LAMBERT, LEONA MAY MERKEL, 98 of Sun City, passed away January 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lambert, parents Charles Merkel and May Chase Merkel and stepmother Nettie Wright Merkel, brothers George Merkel and Howard Merkel. Leona was a graduate of Marion, Iowa, High School and Northern Iowa University. She is survived by her Son, Larry Lambert of Sun City, Grandchildren Kimberly Lambert and Kristen Newlon of Phoenix, Elizabeth Struitmans of Ontario, CA and Allison Eversult of Rio Linda, CA, and 7 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are Nephews, Kent, Alan, and Howard Merkel and several Grand Nieces and Nephews. Graveside services will be held January 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
