Gregory F. Salamon

Gregory F. Salamon, age 66, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Karen (Pereira) Salamon to whom he has been married for the past 31 years.

Born in Providence, RI, a son of the late Francis M. and Winifred P. (Ingram) Salamon, he has been a lifelong area resident.

A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1973, he worked as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at the Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset for forty years. He was Treasurer for Somerset Little League and coached youth baseball and soccer for many years. A longtime member of Christian life Church, he was an ambassador for Promise Keepers, a Christian men’s organization.

Mr. Salamon was a member of the N.R.A., the National Republican Committee and the Tin Can Soldiers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Joel Gregory Salamon, Jacob Francis Salamon, Jonah Michael Salamon, Donald Turner and John Niles; three sisters, Patricia Mooney, Margaret “Peggy” Martinville and Jayne K. Salamon; two brothers, Mark E. and Michael P. Salamon and many nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. His Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:00AM in the Christian Life Church, 222 Plain St., Rehoboth. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Burial in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset.
