With sadness in our hearts, we the family of Lenora Jessome announce her passing on August 10, 2022, at Taigh Solas in North Sydney. She was surrounded by the love of her family, who will miss her dearly, and cherish the memories they hold in their hearts.
Born in Bras D’or, she was one of nine children born to the late Benjamin and Liza (MacNeil)Young. Lenora was the life of the party, and truly a social butterfly. She loved to play cards and bingo. She took great pleasure in making others happy and always gave them a good laugh. She enjoyed socializing as a member of the Bras D’or Seniors and Pensioners Club and supporting other as a member of Al Anon. In her younger years, Lenora was an avid Baseball player, in her later years she traded playing sports for watching them. Indeed, she loved to watch hockey, particularly when “Sid the Kid” was playing, cheering him on with all her might.
Lenora and her loving husband Emerson were soul mates. Lenora was a loving and caring wife who made sure her family were always well fed and well loved. She extend this heart welcoming attitude to just about anyone who found their way to her door. She and Emerson were able to spend many days travelling together, taking in sights and making precious memories. They are now reunited, but the indelible mark they had left on those they loved will live on forever.
Lenora is predeceased by her husband Emerson, her parents Benjamin and Liza, her brothers; John D. (Nancy), Benjamin Jr. (Sarah), Alexander and Franklyn, her sisters; Marie (Bob) Allen, Lex (Ron) McManaman, Naish (Harry) Addicott, and Nelida Young as well as brother-in-law Brosie LeBlanc and grand-son John Edward.
