Charlotte Elizabeth Chmiel

Chmiel, Charlotte E- Age 97 of Whitney Pier, Sydney NS passed away April 19, 2020 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, NS. Nan was the daughter of the late Michael and Madeline Marmulak. She was predeased by her husband Thomas Chmiel Sr, son Tom Chmiel, and brother Walter Marmulak Surviving are son Donnie (Leslie) Calgary Alberta, Daughter In law Lois Gallagher Chmiel, Truro, sister Helen Maclean, Sydney, Sister In Law, Betty Kerr, Cole Harbour. Nan was the proud grandmother to Michael (Joanne) Dartmouth, Jim (St. Johns), Tonya (Kevin) Masstown, Patty (Darin) Egerton. She was Great Grandmother of 8, and Great Great Grandmother to 7 children. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces. Nan immigrated to Canada at a young age and settled in Whitney Pier, Sydney NS with her parents. She was a member of St Marys Polish Church and was active in her church community. Nan enjoyed her weekly club gatherings at her home for social and refreshments with friends for many years. She was a full time Homemaker and master of the pierogi. She loved to cook and host an Old Christmas as part of her Ethnic traditions. Thank you to Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Victoria Way. You have provided Nan with a home away from home. We know you will miss her late night prowl and shopping expeditions. The endless stories have always brightened our day.
