You may be gone, but rest in peace because you'll never be forgotten, I will treasure your thoughfulness and kind words. A legislator of God's own making. I miss you, my friend

I don’t live in Alabama now but for many years Ron was a friend to my family and myself. Helped us so many times when we struggled for different needs for our handicap daughterLynn. He was loved by many and respected by all for his service. He will be missed and difficult to replace. So sad for his family and for the irreplaceable public servant and friend we lost. Prayers for the family.

Ron was a very nice person. If we ever needed any help, he was always willing to do what he could. Our prayers are with his family.

Of all the people you meet in your life outside of family, a few stand out in your memory. Ron is one of those few for me. I worked for him and James Hobson at Hobson's Pharmacy in the mid 70s while going to college and it was the first job I ever had that I looked forward to going to. He was more like a member of the team than a boss and he was so much fun to be around. Always joking with that sarcastic sense of humor. It also didn't hurt that he was a die hard Auburn fan. Listening to Auburn play Florida on the radio at work with him was something you would have to see to believe. We lost touch after he got into politics and I moved away from Sylacauga but I never forgot about him and never will. WAR EAGLE, Ron!

Ron was one of a kind. We loved him and will surely miss him. The state and the district he served since 1978 will be hard pressed to find a replacement.

Mr Ron was a good man, he was a good friend of my Grandfather Wilbur Davenport and became a good friend of mine. He went out of his way to help me with a situation that i found myself in with no one to help me and take my side but he did. He believed in me and helped me greatly. He was a great man and he will be missed. God bless the family!
