Louis was born in New York, New York on March 17, 1933. He served his country during the Korean War, reaching the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a mentor to his family and friends.

Louis was the beloved husband of Jean (nee Florio) and loving father of Richard (Margaret), Jennifer (Paul) Fauci, and Karen (Leonardo) Guemeryl. He was a devoted grandfather of David, Nicole, Christopher, Dina, Nicholas, and Alex. He was a cherished brother of Helen Basso and Emma Tessitore and the late Dolores, Vincent, Mario, Rudolph, and Valentino.
