Janie Lavon Norseworthy was born on March 14th, 1969 in Lawton, OK, the daughter of Johnny and Margie (Wright) Norseworthy. She grew up with two brothers, Randy and Gary, and one sister, Rita. The family located to Tahlequah, OK, and Janie attended school in Tahlequah. She worked as a Housekeeper at Go Ye Village in Tahlequah, OK. She was a natural at her job, she loved people and loved talking to all the people she met on a daily basis. She was the proud mother of one son and three daughters, Donald, Kayla, Cheyenne and Cherokee. She possessed a kind and loving heart and went out of her way to help those around her, with whatever she had to give. When she wasn’t working, she loved to curl up with a good romance novel. She enjoyed going out to eat and was always ready to go out for Mexican or chicken someplace. She was an avid fan of One Tree Hill and General Hospital on TV and tried to never miss an episode of her favorite soaps. Her grandchildren were her favorite friends on the planet, she couldn’t be happier than she was when she was with her grandchildren, watching them compete or just playing with them in the yard. She was fond of unicorns and wolves, and collected both, from figurines to shirts. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt. A Christian by faith, she attended Faith Chapel and loved time spent with her church family. She battled cancer and did her very best not to let the cancer control her life. She passed from this life on Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at her home surrounded by the ones who loved her best. She was 51 years old and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter C. and Bessie M. Wright Sr. and William and Rita L. Norseworthy .

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Donald Sequichie of Tahlequah, Kayla Petersen and husband David of Tahlequah, Cheyenne Steward and husband Trent of Park Hill, OK, and Cherokee Sequichie of Tahlequah, OK. She leaves her mother and father, Johnny and Margie Norseworthy of Tahlequah, OK, and her brothers and sister, Randy Norseworthy and wife Eldonna of Tahlequah, OK, Gary Norseworhty of Park Hill, OK, and Rita Norseworthy and husband Daniel Hensley of Eldon, OK. She will live on in her ten grandchildren, David Petersen, Rylee Petersen, Weston Petersen, Wesley Sequichie, Bristol Sequichie, Daytona Sequichie, Serenity Steward, Dawn Chism, Justin Sequichie, Nova Sequichie, and Joshua Lucas, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
