Jeffrey Chance Chuculate, or “Chook” to his family and friends, was born November 10, 1971 in Sapulpa, OK, the son of Richard William “Bill” Chuculate and Dorothy “Dottie” (Hooser) Turner. Jeffrey graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1990 and went on to earn credentials and accolades as a Paramedic/EMT with Cherokee Nation. As a proud member of the Cherokee Nation, he fought forest wildfires with the Cherokee Nation Fire Department and also worked many jobs as a laborer before he joined the United States Army on July 5, 2007. He held position as Specialist of the 883rd Quarter Master Battalion before his honorable discharge of the Army Reserve on October 16th, 2015. His pride and love for his Country was evident in all he did. His uniform, his service, and his “battles” were a true turning point in his life. Another pivotal moment was meeting his soul mate, Sandy. The adoration they had for each other was truly one from God. Jeffrey shared the last 12 years with the love of his life, Sandy Adrian and his adopted by heart daughter, Ally “Boogazi” Chambers. He was blessed with three beautiful children, Chyanne “Chynie”, River “Boy Kid”, and Rhylee “Roo” Chuculate. He was so proud of all his kids and everything they have accomplished. He embraced any opportunity to spend time with them and his best bud, Jagger, his yorkie, literally went everywhere with him. Among the many memories he held dear, he treasured the time he had with his late Uncle Jim. For fun, Jeffrey exercised being a true outdoorsman and an avid hunter, along with working in his garden any chance he had. He could grow anything he put his hands to and if he could hunt it – he would. Being on the farm in Sallisaw or anywhere in the outdoors was truly where he found the most peace. He believed strongly in his Creator of this beautiful land. Jeffrey passed from this life on April 13, 2019 at the age of 47, doing what he loved to do. The abundant joy he brought to others will forever be in the hearts of those that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Chuculate, grandparents, Richard and Maxine Chuculate, best friend and mentor, Uncle Jim Chuculate and his “Gaga” Mary Hooser.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy “Dottie” Turner, special love, Sandy Adrian of the home and bonus daughter, Ally Chambers of the home in Tahlequah, OK, his son, Private First Class River Chuculate of the 502nd MRBC stationed in Ft. Knox, KY, and daughters, Rhylee and Chyanne Chuculate of Tahlequah, OK. He will also be remembered by his sister, Jill White and niece, Cecily of Fort Worth, TX, cousins, Jamie Hamil and husband Kevin of Durant, OK, Robyn Stewart and husband Scott of Muldrow, OK, and very special aunt, Margaret Raymond of Tahlequah, OK along with countless brothers and sisters in armed forces as well as numerous friends he considered family.
