She was an educator who spent most of her career in South Florida. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Queens College, a Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University and a Doctorate of Education from University of Arizona. She developed and taught the “Time for School” program for kindergarten students on the local public television station in Miami. She was the Director of Educational Programs for the Head Start program in Dade County and was the principal of two elementary schools in Dade County. In the Panhandle area, she was an educational consultant working with the Florida Academy of School Leaders and the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium.
She was actively involved with the Florida Retired Educators Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and was past president of both Phi Delta Kappa and Leon-Wakulla Retired Educators. She served on the Board of Directors for the Miami Mental Health Center, and the Academy of Community Education. She served as a Trustee of the Florida Retired Educators Foundation.
Ceil loved traveling and learning the cultures of others, traveling to Europe, South America, Egypt, Russia, and China.
Ceil was predeceased by her ex-husband Charles Hack and her son Gregory Hack.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Hack (JoAnne Todd), of Tallahassee; Daughter in Law, Nancy Hack, of Deltona; Grandchildren, Jennifer Laflamme (Jason), of Deltona, Brian Hack (Angela), of Safety Harbor, Austin Hack, of Concord, NC and Connor Hack, of Tallahassee. She is also survived by her Great grandchildren, Taylor and Chloe Hack and Hannah Laflamme.
