Christopher Holley Poe passed away peacefully December 14, 2018 at the Margaret Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee. Chris was almost born aboard a ship returning to the United States from Europe with his parents. He was born in Sarasota, Florida to Barbara (Bobbi) Frye and Richard Holley Poe. They later moved to Tallahassee where he graduated from Leon High School, where upon he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower. Upon discharge, he apprenticed with several well-known builders as a carpenter using his artistic talents to enhance many homes in the Tallahassee area. He was an avid hunter and saltwater fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Holley Poe; sister, Deborah Jean Poe; and stepdads, Dr. O. E. Frye and Dr. Jack Macdonald. He is survived by his mother, Dr. Barbara (Bobbi) Frye-Macdonald; sister, Leslie Frye Allen (Tom); brothers, Robbie Poe (Stacy), Josh Poe (Marni); and adored nieces, Grayal Allen, Merina Allen, Reese Poe, Lane Poe, and Kelsie Poe.
He will be deeply missed by his family and numerous friends who knew and loved him for the goodhearted man he was.
A funeral service for Christopher will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2 pm at Tallahassee National Cemetery.
