She had endured many years of multiple health issues which she fought valiantly and never let slow her down. She was born November 20th, 1938 in St. Petersburg, Florida and moved to Tallahassee, Florida to further her education in 1971, where she lived the remainder of her life.
Margaret always felt fortunate and grateful for a life well lived, with a doting and loving family, an excellent education, a fulfilling career and many years of world travel. She loved music and played the piano most of her life and several other instruments in her youth. She earned a PhD from Florida State University in Education and Career Counseling and worked as a teacher, high school counselor and finally, a Bureau Chief for the Florida Department of Education.
Her most enduring traits were her constant cheerfulness, intelligence and great sense of humor. A room was always filled with positive energy and laughter when she entered the conversation. One cannot comment on her passing without mentioning she especially loved all her dogs, cats and horses over the years, and there was no lack of them to warm her bedside at her passing.
Margaret miraculously endured three different cancers and was extremely lucky to have survived all of them with excellent, modern health care, defeating the earliest and most severe cancer 34 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl B. and Doris T. Ferqueron and is survived by several loving cousins.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee (1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32312) or an animal shelter/rescue of your choice. Due to current circumstances, funeral arrangements are limited to a small family service at this time.
