Vera was born in 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, to Dr. Attilio and Mrs. Florence Trippitelli. She grew up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, and attended Visitation Academy, Packer Collegiate Institute, and Tufts University. She was married to Dominic J. Profaci in 1961 and the couple moved to and raised their family in New Jersey. Vera and Dom enjoyed the last ten years in Clearwater, Florida.
Vera lived a full life. She and Dom loved to travel, seeing their children and grandchildren at every type of event, and also exploring the world, particularly enjoying Ireland, Sicily, and Praiano – her grandmother’s birthplace on the Amalfi Coast.
She was a prolific reader, something she joyfully shared with her children. Vera also loved walking on the beach, collecting coral and shells, tending to her violets, and hosting epic family gatherings.
Vera loved her family above all else! She is survived by Dominic, her adoring husband of 58 years; her children Joseph, Elvira, Cristina, and Dominic, and her brother Gerard Trippitelli.
The sunshine of her life were her seven grandchildren: Sander and Serena, Sean and Maggie, Luke and Olivia, and Marcus, as well as her many dear nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Vera’s life will be held on Friday, August 2, at 9am at St Timothy’s Catholic Church in Lutz, Florida.
