RIGDON Jr., Chandler ‘Duke’ 68, of Tampa passed away on March 14, 2018. He was born on March 20, 1949 in Japan to Col. Chandler and Ethel Rigdon. Survivors include his wife, Georgine Rigdon of Tampa; his sister, Donna McCarthy and husband Jack of Colorado/Fort Myers; nephews Jack, Jr., Ryan, Sean and Rory McCarthy; and aunt and uncle Ernestine and Jimmie Bridges of Sanford, NC. Duke has been a long time resident of Tampa Bay. He was the owner of Bali Flags USA and decorated many major local events, including the Gasparilla Parades and RibFest. He was a restaurateur in the 1970's and 80's and owned Cafe California and 42nd Street Station. Duke was also a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines and was the first individual to stop a high-jacking to Cuba. He was a graduate of St. Leo's College, where he graduated Cum Laude. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1741, on Lake Sunset Dr., in Tampa, where a Celebration of His Life will be held on April 15. Duke never knew a stranger and had many friends. He was loved by many and will be very much missed.
