Esther Jencen passed away on October 29, 2020 in Tampa, Fla. where she had been a resident for over 44 years. Esther was born in Havana, Cuba and came to America with her parents where she was able to become a stewardess with Pan Am Airlines. At that time, Pan Am traveled the world visiting luxurious sites where she joined the flight crew at five star hotels for extended stays while based in New York. That brought her to meet her future husband in New York where she was married after just three months for a marriage that lasted for 60 years. The married life took Esther from New York to Connecticut, but her longings for the warm weather brought the family to settle in Tampa, Florida. While in Tampa, her children grew up and later went off to college. She spent many years enjoying life in the sunshine. She is survived by her husband, Jerome Jencen of Tampa; daughter, Denise J. Hogan; son, Steve Jencen both of Virginia. Esther joins her son, William and parents, Mikalina and Alexandras Barscevicius in Mrytle Hill Memorial Park.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
