Joyce B. Faria, age 74, of Seffner, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Joyce was born August 14, 1947 in Tampa, FL, the daughter of Ralph Green and Juanita (Nellums) Green and sister to Ronnie Green. Joyce attended Oak Park Elementary, Franklin Jr. High and graduated from King High School. She continued her education and graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors in English Education and a minor in Journalism. Joyce was an 8th grade English teacher for 32 years in the Hillsborough County Public School System of Florida. Joyce married in 1969 to Robert Faria. She grew her family and gave birth to her daughter, Robyn Faria, and son, Ryan Faria soon after.

Joyce was very creative, and had so many skills and talents from writing, teaching, decorating, cooking, painting, having wit and wisdom and a sense of humor, being spiritual, passionate, kind, empathetic, giving and putting her special touch on everything to being a loving and caring daughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, sister-in-law, grandma-ma to cat Sophie, cousin and friend. She enjoyed a good book, going to movies, plays, musicals, concerts and creating gardens. She loved music and would often say, “that’s my song.” She said she could have as many as she wanted. She enjoyed being with family and friends and having fun. Joyce touched so many lives, both professionally and personally. Her eyes could tell a thousand stories and her smile could make you feel safe and loved. We will carry our “Magnolia Queen” in our hearts, and know that she carried you in hers. Joyce was preceded in death her parents Ralph and Juanita Green; her son, Ryan Faria; and her brother, Ronnie Green. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Robert "Bob" Faria and her daughter, Robyn Faria. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, a family-only funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12 noon at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, Temple Terrace. Bob and Robyn,
My mother (now 100) and I loved your mother very much and we are extremely sorry for your tremendous loss.
From Franklin through U.S.F, and 'till the end, we were best friends and phone buddies.
I loved her and shall miss her every day of my life. She was a wonderful person, full of personality , full of sage advice and a wonderful friend.
I love you both and share your sorrow.

Our hearts are forever broken, there are simply not enough words to describe how saddened we are. We love her and miss her so very much. We love you both so very much and are so very sorry for your loss.

My heart goes out to Bob & Robyn. I could cry a river right now. Have know Joyce since we were 3 years old, playing under that big oak tree at Oak Park Elem waiting for our brothers to get out of school. We clicked & never un-clicked. We were best friends, we even had our 2nd children on the same day, different hospitals, same town. She was my maid of honor & I was hers. I'm so sorry, Jo, that I didn't make it to yalls 50th but you know my heart was there with yall. I've loved you all my life & that will never end. One day, Sweet Friend, one day
