Julia Ann “Judy” Hutson 1942-2020

Julia Ann Huston, formerly of Tampa, Florida passed peacefully on July 29th at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill, Florida. She was born on October 15, 1942 to Mathew Daniel and Thelma (Rice) Walker.

She was a veteran of the United States Air Force and spent many years in the hospitality and hotel industry. Aside from spending time with her family, she enjoyed taking care of animals, home gardening, cooking, watching nature, old movies, surrey style music, puzzle gaming and especially Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Kimberly Danielle McRae and a granddaughter, Abbey Nichole. Survivors include her grandchildren Matthew Hill of Hernando County and Heather Henning of Pasco County.

All who knew her considered her a kind and loving individual with a very giving nature. She will be sadly missed by all, but we may take comfort in the knowledge that she has been called home by the Lord to be with her daughter.

At the request of the family, only a graveside service is planned through Blount & Curry Funeral Services at Garden of Memories cemetery in Tampa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Moffitt Cancer Center.

I first met Judy when she lived across the street of her now daughter in law Ruby. On many occasions I would arrive at Ruby’s house and she would not be home yet;) Judy would always invite me into her home to wait. She was always so warm and caring. Talking to her was so easy. It was like we’d known each other for years even when we first met. She will be missed.

It is with affection and pride that I have had the opportunity to know Judy and become as family through the marriage of Matt and Ruby. It is with fondness that I recall our delightful conversation and especially our sharing of recipes. I will remember her as a woman with a rare combination posessing an air of pride and nobility tempered by an abundance of common sense. We will miss Judy.
