Leonice is survived by her mother Leonie (nee’ Charles) Thomas, sons: Hezekiah H. M. Thomas , Darrell J. Pierre, Brandon V. Pierre, daughters: Brittany V. Pierre, Victoria Dyson(adopted), daughters-in-law Myrva Florvil and Lillian Davidson), her sister Stephanie Thomas, adopted sister Florence Jacquet-Thomas, brothers: Dr. Michael A. Thomas, Dr. Desmond Thomas, Lester G. Thomas and Lee K. Thomas, grandchildren: Myah J. F. Thomas, Samiyah Pierre, Jamall Pierre, Jaime Pierre, Brielle Pierre and Braylen Pierre; grand aunts and uncles: Alphonse Thomas, Beltina Thomas, Beatrice Blanc, and Gertrude Mark; uncles: Clement Charles, Randolph Charles, Health F. Charles, Severin Charles, Joseph Thomas Jr., Vincent Thomas, Guy E. Thomas, Eric JC Thomas, Etienne Thomas, Grayson Thomas, James P. Thomas, Reynold A. She is preceded in death by her father Luke Thomas and granddaughter Brie Victoria Pierre
Leonice was born on August 11, 1964 in Roseau, Dominica to Luke Thomas and Leonie (Charles) Thomas. She was married to Bernard Pierre. She completed Charlotte Amalie High School Class of 1984 and Tennessee Temple 1985. She attended Miami Dade, Dade County with a CNA certification in 1992, Manatee Technical Institute, Bradenton with a Certification as an LPN 2004 and was pursuing an RN career when she suffered a stroke in January 2005. Prior to that time, Leonice or Lee as she was affectionately known, worked in several nursing homes caring for the elderly, doing what she loved.
Her funeral is scheduled for February 2, 2019, Viewing at 10am and Service 11-12pm at Garden of Memories located at 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. All are welcome to attend the celebration of Leonice’s life.
