Manuel was a wonderful husband, father, Nano and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Dieste-DeDiego; parents, Jennie Varde-DeDiego and Manuel Antonio DeDiego; brother, Gene DeDiego; granddaughter, Jennie Hamilton-Boyd and great-grandson, Jeremy William Boyd. Manuel is survived by his companion, Frances Miranda; sister-in-law, Anna Mae DeDiego; daughters, Debbie DeDiego-Ferri (Tom), Darlene DeDiego-Hamilton (Earl); grandchildren, Kristen Morse, Joseph Ferri and E.J. Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Lillian Boyd; Ashton Boyd and Jayce Boyd and numerous nephews and cousins.
Manuel was a lifelong resident of Tampa he grew up and lived in Ybor City for many years. He loved his work and owned and operated Diego Electric for forty years. He was active in the Ybor City Optimists club and worked closely with the boys club.
His passion was fishing. He and several close friends headed out to sea every Saturday morning hoping to catch fish and always enjoying a day together with life long friends. Throughout their lives Manuel and Edna took several overseas trips, were active on the PBA bowling circuit and took many trips to Biloxi where Manuel enjoyed the craps table and Edna the slots.
Manuel was a kind generous man who worked hard to provide for his family and he was always there with a helping hand for his friends if they needed him. He will be greatly missed.
A Graveside Service for Manuel will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Chapel of Lights Mausoleum, 4202 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
