Melissa Kaye Essary of Tazewell Tn was born February 19th 1973 in Harlan Ky, she passed to her eternal home February 16th 2019 at her family home in Tazewell. Missy is now celebrating her new life and healthy body with her savior Jesus Christ after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Missy was raised in Cumberland Ky with her sister Joyce by parents Coy and Bobbie Taylor. She enjoyed her childhood and took from there many life time friendships that she always treasured and carried them with her wherever she went. Missy was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and earned a Master of Education from East Tennessee State University. Missy was a proud educator and played a large role in dozens of her student’s lives. Missy chose a Christian Life at a young age and was Saved by Grace through Faith in Cumberland and that walk with Jesus led her to her new hometown of Tazewell. She was proud to impact lives in her job as a teacher and as a Youth Director in Church. Her goal was to always share the Joy that a Christ filled life can bring and did her best to allow God’s light to shine through her and into the world, so that Jesus could have the same impact on others that he had on her. Missy’s life was interrupted by a 5 ½ year battle with Ovarian Cancer, but her faith in her Savior never faltered and only grew stronger. She always held firm to her belief in a better life in Heaven after she left her Earthly Home and was strengthened daily by the Prayer Warriors that were sent to her by God. Missy was a true inspiration. We first met when me and my family first got back in church. She inspired us and was a positive influence for all of us with her dedication and faith in Christ. She held her Saviours hand in her as she walked upon this earth. Her favorite words were " No matter what happens or what I shall face upon this earth I am a winner either way". Her faith was strong and she loved her Lord. Now RIP dear friend and walk those streets of gold because you are whole and no pain or sick ness can touch you anymore. Paul, Jaden and many other family and friends, you guys were her life other than God. Now mount up and soar on eagles wings. Love you and your precious family Lady. Gone But Never Forgotten!!!!

My deepest condolences to the family of the sweetest most kind hearted person, I met Missy at CCHS when she was a teacher there, I worked as a custodian, we were assigned so many class rooms to keep clean and I had the pleasure of cleaning Missy room, I say pleasure because she always had a kind word to say, she never failed to say thank you Susie I really appreciate all that you do,we had conversations about different things in our lives, oh how she loved her daughter Jayden & her husband Paul, she listened when you talked, if she just passed you in the hallway or the cafeteria she always spoke and smiled that beautiful smile, she was someone you could love very easily. You will be missed by many, Spread those wings and fly high my friend.

I was one of Missy’s nurses at UT. I will never forget her strong faith in our Lord. When she would come in for treatment the look on her face...she always had a glow about her. Her eyes just sparkled and that smile of hers was so sweet. Even if she got bad news Missy held on to her faith and everyone around her could see that in her. We could see Jesus in her. What a blessing she was to so many people. I am blessed for having known you just a short time.
