Betty Gene Langston

Graveside services for Betty Gene Langston, 84, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery with Tim Rudolph officiating. Mrs. Langston died Friday in a Temple Care Center. Mrs. Langston was born in Troy to J.D. Popham and Evelyn Pitts Popham.  She worked in the Food Service Department with Temple Independent School District.  She married Joseph Martin Stepan March 14, 1948.  He preceded her in death February 23, 1990. She married Maurice Langston May 8, 1994.  He preceded her in death August 5, 2016.  She was a member of Temple Brethren Church and a member of a local Square Dancing Club.  She lived in Temple and lived in West before returning to Temple 5 years ago. Mrs. Langston was preceded in death by one daughter Betty Joe Stepan in 1961; one brother Kenneth Popham, two sisters Darlene Burgess and Wanda Marez. Survivors include two daughters Rebecca Sustaita of Temple and Janet Stepan of Temple; one son David Stepan of Burnet; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
