November 18, 1939 – October 9, 2021
Patsy Garnett went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2021 with her family by her side. Born on November 18, 1939, Patsy lived most of her life in San Angelo. Patsy met her husband, Clarence Lynwood Garnett (Lyn) at a drive-in theatre in 1955 and they later married on May 12, 1956. Together they had 2 children, Gary Lynn Garnett and Deborah Kaye Garnett Albert. In 2018 the couple moved to Temple, TX where they were able to be close to her sister, friend and her sidekick, Peggy. Before she retired, Patsy was employed with Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon for over 30 years. She was also a member at large with Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a service organization which she enjoyed greatly with her dear friend Marynell Lane. Together they raised money for great causes such as St. Jude’s Hospital. Affectionately known as “Cookie” to her family and friends they also knew Patsy as a soft spoken, kind, loving, and a truly amazing person. She was a strong woman who was a true fighter surviving both breast and lung cancer. Patsy cared deeply for her family and friends and always gave to others in need. Patsy is survived by her husband Lyn Garnett of Temple, TX, daughter Debbie Albert of Charleston, SC, granddaughters Shauna Perroots (Jeff) and great-granddaughter Madelyn Perroots of Charleston, SC, Ginger Garnett of San Angelo, TX. Sisters, Peggy Barbour (Ron) of Temple, TX and Angela Robinson of Bentonville, AR. Brother, Joe Hughes of Iowa. Niece Solange Martinez (Alex) of Bentonville, AR and great-nephews Ethan and Jude Martinez of Bentonville, AR. She is preceded in death by her son Gary Lynn Garnett and her parents Christina Bell Hughes and Andy Ransom Churchwell. Services for Patsy will be held at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens 4989 FM Highway 1223 in San Angelo on Thursday October 14th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers we request that a donation is made in her honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Meals on Wheels or your favorite charity.
