Well Dad, it’s only been 4 days since you went to be with your mom, Aunt Lula, and Uncle Marion. The world just doesn’t seem the same without you here. Although, I know you’re feeling good and happy now. This helps me to push through the days. I can still see you leaning against the counter in front of the stove snacking on some bread and cheese. This particular day we were discussing my asking for money and how “money don’t grow on trees!” As a young teenager I really didn’t know the value of a dollar until I went to work a few years later. But you said to me “you’re gonna miss me when I’m gone!” meaning I’d miss my benefactor. I replied that “you’re gonna live til you’re 95!” You just chuckled thinking there ain’t no way. But as the years kept passing we obviously got older, and before I knew it you had your 94th birthday. So the months are flying by and I’m thinking HE IS GONNA MAKE IT TO 95!!! Unfortunately, you decided it was time to go two months before your 95th birthday. I can’t help but wonder if you just didn’t want me to say “I told you so!” 🤣 Well, you came awful close. I know I’ll never stop missing you but I take comfort in knowing I’ll see you again someday. Until then, I have the memories to cherish and will always keep you in my heart. I LOVE YOU❤️
- Sandy
