Funeral services for Thomas L. Beach 76, of Temple, will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Westphalia, Texas. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm with a rosary at 7 pm, Monday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.
Mr. Beach passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in a Temple hospital.
Thomas Leo was born December 29, 1934 in Westphalia to Henry and Antoinette (Kleypas) Beach.
Mr. Beach served in the US Air Force from May 29, 1957 to August 30, 1960. He retired from the Federal Railroad Administration where he worked as a Track and Safety Inspector covering parts of Texas and Louisiana. He also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Slaton, Temple and Carlsbad, NM and the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Beaumont. After retirement, he continued to work as a railroad consultant and a railroad safety instructor.
Thomas was preceded in death by his spouse, Patricia J. (Moraw) Beach, his parents, and one brother, Gilbert Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Holbrook) Beach of Temple, six sons, David G. and Marie Beach , of College Station, Thomas P. and Donna Beach, of Temple, Darryl L. and Michelle Beach of Georgetown, Christopher A. and Missy Beach of Beaumont, Kenneth W. and Debbie Beach of Amarillo, and Vincent M. and Jodie Beach of Leander; two step-daughters, Pam Holbrook and Sissy and Jim Black; two brothers; (Ret) Col. William L. Beach of Oceanside, CA, and Lawrence Beach of Manor; four sisters, Dorothy Schmidt of San Antonio, Juanita Buxkemper of Schulenberg, Laverne Frei of Temple, and Ruth Jahns of Houston, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
