Gatha was a graduate of Ashdown High School. She retired from GTE. Upon retirement, she spent her time shopping with her family. Her love for family and get togethers with them was what she enjoyed most. She was a member of Northern Hills Baptist Church.
Gatha was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Parker, her parents, her sister, Bethel Kelly, her three brothers, Sid Turner, Henry Turner and Claude Turner, Jr., a grandson, Trey Sutton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammie Sutton and husband, Billy of Texarkana, TX, Lisa Gollinger and her husband, Ken of Genoa, AR; her grandchildren, Britt House and wife, Courtney, Kenny Gollinger and wife, Celeste, Katie Gollinger and Billy Sutton, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Sutton House, Michael, Matthew, Elizabeth Jo Gollinger, Colton and Ava Riddle, Corey Sutton and wife, Hayley, Nathan Westmoreland and wife Emily Westmoreland. She was also blessed with two great great grandchildren, Rhett and Wade Sutton. Her grandchildren were the pride of her life. She loved spending time with her family. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved to spend time with.
The family would like to thank the special caregivers who took care of Mom while at home. A very special thank you to Reunion Plaza for the love and care that they showed to our Mom while she was in their care. We are so thankful for you all.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Memorial Gardens with Brother Roger Copeland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
Visitation will be at East Funeral Home on Moores Lane on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
