
Nettie Mac Ford went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1st in The Villages, Florida. The youngest of five children, she was born on March 30, 1929 in Perryton, Texas to Saint Luke and Marion Carter Brillhart. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1946 and from Texas Tech University in 1950. A teacher for over 40 years, Nettie was fiercely dedicated to education and helped ensure her family had an equally fervent love of learning. Nettie married the love of her life, Joe Ford, in 1985. She is survived by her daughter Shannon Floyd (Larry) of Texas; and was preceded in death by husband Joe and daughter Sheryl Ahearn (Brett) of Florida. She is survived by 7 grandchildren; Scotti Edgar (Chris), Amanda Katz (Robert), Michaela Alston (Kyle), Brandon Lairsen (Heather), Meredith Stephenson (Jon), Hilary Jones (Justin), and Wade Lairsen (Thomas). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren. Throughout her life, Nettie gave love and joy to anyone who crossed her path. Whether supporting causes important to her as well as involvement in various social organizations, she left a distinguished mark. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Brookdale and The Villages Regional Hospital as well as all her friends in The Villages who have been part of the golden chapter of her life here.
