Sandra S. Kennett of the Villages passed away on September 12, 2016. She was born in Knox, IN on July 26, 1930. Sandra married Bob Kennett in 1949. In 1985 Sandra retired from Time Inc. in Downtown Chicago. Sandra and Bob resided on the Southside of Chicago until the late 60's when they moved to Crete, IL. From there they moved to the Deltona, FL area after retirement. The Villages became Sandra's home in 2013. Sandra had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh when reading her comics in the newspaper. Bunco was her game, especially when she won! She had fun playing several days a week at the rec centers. She remained strong during the saddest times in her life, the loss of her husband of 51 years and the tragic murder of her grandson David two years ago. She was loved deeply and will be missed by many. She was mom to David (Karen) Kennett of Bourbonnais, IL and Vickie Kinman (Ron) of The Villages, FL. She was grandma to Amy (OJ) and Ronnie Kinman and his son Robbie Kinman who affectionately called her GiGi (great-grandma). A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
