Maggie Noel Minor died January 25 at the age of 93. Maggie was born in Scott County Mississippi to Henry Arthur Noel and Cora Lee McGee on November 2, 1926. She was the fifth of six children. After her father passed at a young age, she worked in the cotton fields to help her family. At a time when women did not have many opportunities, she set out with a friend for Houston, TX to broaden her horizons. There she started her 32 year career with Southwestern Bell, (later AT&T) and married her husband of nearly 63 years, Frank L. Minor.
During their marriage Frank and Maggie were active members of Christ United Methodist Church, Glenbrook United Methodist Church, and Splendora Countryside United Methodist Church. They enjoyed traveling, square dancing, gardening and playing dominoes with friends. Following her husband's death, she moved to Woodhaven Village where she continued to enjoy playing dominoes and bingo.
Maggie was also preceded in death by her an infant daughter, Denise. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Daphne and Bill Meador, and Diana Minor and John Mata. She has two granddaughters, April and Casey Meador, and one great-granddaughter, Melody Meador.
The family would like to thank the staff and her friends at Woodhaven Village for their love and care in her final days.
