She was born to her late parents, Ethel and James Guy in Spartanburg, South Carolina on July 26,1938. Sadie had an adventurous spirit and was able to live and travel to various states including, Wisconsin, Alaska, Florida and Indiana. In her last years Sadie made Spring, Texas her final home.
During her travels she had many different jobs including a Girl Scout troop leader in Alaska! She worked very hard for her family and took on many jobs, no job was too big or too small. She also loved to volunteer at her children’s schools and social events.
Sadie leaves behind her eldest sister Margaret Robbins and youngest sister Patricia Garcia in San Antonio, Texas. Sadie was survived by her three daughters; Carlene Wertman, Ginger Anton and Vanessa Grahn - six grand children: Heather Moschinger, Timothy Wertman, Andreya Garcia, Danny Anton, Alec Anton, Elizabeth Grahn and eight great grandchildren: Layla Moschinger, Juliet Peterson, Devin Peterson, Kelsey Peterson, Ayla Wertman, Alice Wertman, Adrienne Anton and Ryleigh Anton.
Sadie had a fun and vibrant personality that light up the room. She never met a stranger as she made fast friends and was a great story-teller - she loved sharing her adventures with family and friends. One of her favorite travel stories was going across the Golden Gate Bridge and seeing such an architectural marvel! Sadie also had a love of country and gospel music from growing up in the South - her life was focused on the family as she loved taking care of her grandkids and celebrating their life adventures with them. She managed to live in all the states where her grandkids lived as to be a part of their life from Miami, Florida to Crawfordsville, Indiana and back to Texas where she called home for over 30 years.
Sadie lived a long and full life that was evident by her surviving children, grandkids, great-grandkids and many friends. It didn’t matter who you were, she was a loving, fun, compassionate soul in everyone’s life.
Her memorial service will be held at Forest Park the Woodlands, 18000 I-45S, The Woodlands on Monday, December 16 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Autism Speaks at https://www.autismspeaks.org
