Linda Dianne Branson Goodman Eggers passed away on March 11, 2018 at the age of 73 years.
Born in High Point on June 22, 1944, the daughter of Hester Reeves Branson and Thomas “Woody” Branson, she spent part of her life in Texas before returning home to Davidson County, where she was employed at Highland Mills before eventually retiring from Davidson County Schools. She was a Ledford Band Booster grandmother who enjoyed spending her weekends driving a bus to festivals and competitions. A lifelong foodie and traveler, Linda loved going on family vacations with her kids and grandkids. One of her favorite destinations was Cherokee, NC – home to a massive casino and all-you-can-eat buffet, and she was always willing to make the trip even if she was terrified of her son-in-law’s driving in the mountains. She also loved animals and was the proud owner of a pet deer and three cats.
She had three daughters. Surviving are her daughters, Jessica Goodman (her youngest and her favorite) and husband Dennis Miller of Thomasville, and estranged daughter, Shelly Goodman-Grubb and husband Michael of Colfax. Her daughter, Beth, preceded her in passing. She is also survived by husband Robert “Shell” Eggers of 7361 Old Greensboro Road; her five grandchildren, Heather Jones and husband Kenneth (“Kev”) of the home, Ryan Goodman of Manchester, England, Shane Miller of London, England, Whitney Grubb Whitlock and husband Brian of Colfax, Justin Grubb of Colfax; and one great-grandson, Logan Whitlock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Purple Heart Homes in Statesville, NC.
