Dear Pat, Ashley, and Lindsay,
I write to you today with a heavy heart, however I hope the service this week was a healing and hopeful experience for all who loved Bert and that you will finally be able to begin the journey to healing.

You all are in my thoughts frequently and I wanted to tell you what a privileged it was to be Bert's nurse. As a daughter with a father who is losing his fight against cancer, your family went straight to my heart.

On his last day in 1169 Bert told me that his only concern was that his family be taken care of so if there is anything I can do for you three or the beloved dogs I would be honored to help fulfill his wish.
Sincerely,
Mateya
(Bert's nurse from the 11th floor)

One of the best men I ever knew. I will always remember you because you made a difference in my life. You saw value in me when others did not. You taught me many things to help me live a better life. I will use the things you taught for the rest of my life.
If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day if you teach a man to fish he will eay for a lifetime. Thanks for the fishing lessons . I will see you again one day my brother.
Until then I will practice what you taught me. Your friend and brother Randall M. Sargent

All my memories of Bert are priceless and he will be deeply missed! It was great as his brother to know him and spend time with him throughout his life and I'll always have great memories of his passion for doing it right. Everything from playing football as kids to motorcycle racing Bert pushed me and toughen me up along the way.

Thank you Bert
Love you..

This week while retelling stories of the things we've done together as well as the ones that I had nothing to do with brought a smile to my face. Bert always had a smile to share & a story to tell. As with all our oldest friendships, you could go years without seeing him but when you did you felt like it was just yesterday. We'll offer prayers for Bert as well as Pat & the girls. I hope the Petschauer family knows we all share in their grief.
