Julia Lucio died on April 13, 2019 at home in Arvada, Colorado at the age 87.Born in Peckham, Colorado on February 17, 1932. Julia was born to the late parents Magdelano Lucio and Louisa Esparza. She was married to the late Robert A. Lucio. She was the loving mother to Cynthia and Robert Lucio Jr. and the loving grandmother to Roslyne Trujillo, Harley Navarrete, Brianna Bowers, and Robert G. Lucio III, great grandmother to Jayden, Lorelei, and Luca. Sister to Josie, Lou, Sara, Grace, Gonzie, Nene, Sara, Steve,Linda, Sandra, Francis, Gilbert, late brothers, Joe T, Julio, David, Victor and beloved late sister Lucy Lucio, multiple nephews, and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Julia will be fondly remembered by her sense of humor, passion for family and determination to succeed in her amazing Mexican cooking which birthed the empire of the Armadillo Restaurants. Once retired, that did not stop her, she continued a small restaurant called AJ's in Brighton, Colorado; however, illness forced Julia to retire. She brought smiles and full tummies to millions of people.
A rosary service for Julia will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 6:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado 80229. Mass of Christian Burial will occur Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn, Colorado 80233.
