Norma J. Kochenower, aged 81, died peacefully in her home on June 4, 2021, in Thornton, CO. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Kochenower; brother Don Overton; daughter Tracy Stears, and sons in-law: Christopher P. Stears and John Proctor; grandchildren: Alisha Bremkamp and husband Scott; Kelli Ann Perdue; Lindsay Buckner and husband Jesse; Ashley Heitmann; Courtney Stears; Kendall Stears; Mason Proctor; Ryan Proctor, great grandchildren: McKayla, Mariah, Laney; Kingsley; Ariah, Owen, Everly; Aveya. She was preceded in death by her children, Scott Perdue, Kelly Perdue, and Julie Proctor.
Norma was born August 25, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa to Calvin and Lena (Burma) Overton. She moved to Thornton, Colorado in 1967 and later married Donald R. Kochenower in December of 1977. She pursued life in Colorado and with challenging work and perseverance, had a long successful career holding various management positions at The Gates Corporation. During that time, she received an Arapahoe Community Business Degree, and earned The Women in Business award. She retired from Gates in 1999.
She enjoyed her life here in Colorado with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her three beloved dogs. She loved her neighbors in Colorado and in Arizona where she and Don enjoyed their winter home. Norma and Don traveled to many destinations in their time together. She was creative and loved crafting, designing silk flower arrangements, and enjoyed fresh flowers in her home.
She will be forever in our hearts and dearly missed.
Services will be at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery in Thornton, Colorado on June 15, 2021, at 11:00 am
