Henry Hans Gebhardt
March 7, 1923 – January 6, 2019
Henry was 95 years old. He was born in Reichenhain, Germany, the second child of Paul and Frieda Gebhardt. Henry came to the United States in 1937. He had one brother Paul who died in 1966. Henry married Jane McClintock in 1945. He worked very hard all of his life, and appreciated the chance to live in this country. He was a Master Baker. He was a bakery merchandiser for Albertsons in Oregon and part of Washington. After leaving Albertsons, he and his wife fulfilled their lifelong dream of owning their own bakery - Gebhardt's Bakery and Konditorei in Raleigh Hills. He loved to build things. He was always working on something. It was a joy for him to help other and lend a hand where needed. His kindness was appreciated by everyone who knew him. He loved music. He sang in the German choir for many years, and also played the small accordion. A lifelong Lutheran, wherever they lived he belonged to a Lutheran Church. Henry had three children; Diane, Judith and Robert; two granddaughters, Amanda and Rachel; two great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
