Dear Marion and Family,
I was so startled to see George's picture in the paper on Tuesday; I'd know him anywhere, as my dad, Lee Ogilvie, played trombone in Carl Hamilton's orchestra for what seemed like my entire life, and of course, for many years, George was a big part of that. He sang at both my and my sister's weddings, along with music played by some of the band members. I remember being at my parent's home in Campus Hills when they hosted band jam sessions that were a blast for me and my (at the time) fiance. My sisters and I all had a crush on George because he was so handsome. I don't know if you remember my mom, Vee (Vivien), but I immediately pulled out long ago pictures that brought back a flood of memories. My sister Pat has many old recordings of the full orchestra, the smaller band, and, of course, George singing. My thoughts are with you; it looks like you have a large wonderful family who will support you and share memories with you. We used to be kind of neighbors, as you lived in Baldwin/Fork, and we lived in Kingsville (still do). I remember running into either you or George at Kingsville Market many years ago. I lost my husband suddenly 2 years ago and know how wonderfully comforting family can be. Stay close to yours... Sincerely, Diana (Ogilvie)Williams

Uncle George was a wonderful and caring person. He will be missed so much. I am proud to call him my uncle. He is now having a wonderful reunion with his brother Louis (my wonderful dad) I am sure they haven't stopped catching up. Until we all meet again. RIP Uncle George

Love you always

Dear Jeff, Jan, Lucy, Zoe and the rest of George's loving family,

Steve, Allie, and I are so sorry to read about the death of Jeff's dad. Although the kids never met him and I met him just once at the wedding in 1981, I know that he was quite a driving force as Jeff is his child and is quite a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. May the grief surrounding his death soon subside and become warm memories of happy times together.

Although I have not seen you all in more years than I care to remember, you remain cherished friends and I hope to see you again one of these days. If you ever make it out to California, you must visit!

I love you all dearly. I am profoundly sorry for the loss of George.
