Elizabeth (Betty) A. Sohl, 88, of Holiday City South in Toms River, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Born in Manhattan, NY she was raised in Woodside Queens and married Richard Sohl on February 14, 1953! She went to Comptometer School and worked for a number of years before becoming a full time homeworker and Mom when her first was born. She lived in Hicksville and Commack, LI for a total of 33 years before moving to Holiday City South in 1986. She was very active in the Holiday City South community having belonged to the Golf Club, Women’s Club and Singles Club. She was a founding member of the Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey. She was a gifted and talented needle pointer and created pieces for her church on Long Island as well as artful pieces for many. While she loved to golf, read, and bake, her biggest love was being with her family of all ages!
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1990. She is survived by her son Bill Sohl and his wife Patty; two daughters Betty Ann Rich and her husband Rod and Jean Marie Norris and her husband Gregg; 7 grandchildren, Julianna (Jeff), Melissa, Michael (Colleen), Bethany (Joe), Joshua, Sarah, and Daniel; and her 5 great-grandchildren Ella, Claire, Foster, Sophia and Griffin.
A memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday April 24, 2021 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home located at 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 pm at Christ Episcopal Church located at 415 Washington St Toms River, NJ 08753. Committal will follow at the Christ Episcopal Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Christ Episcopal Church Memorial Garden Fund. Checks should be made out to Christ Episcopal Church and in the memo put “In Memory of Elizabeth Sohl”.
