Lottie W Laluk
January 9, 1925 – July 6, 2018
Lottie W. (Gubernat) Laluk, age 93, of Whiting, NJ, died on Thursday July 6, 2018 at the Crestwood Manor Health Care Center, Whiting.
Born on January 9, 1925 in Newark, Lottie was the daughter of Polish immigrants, the late Andrew and Helen Gubernat. She was married for 49 years to the late Edward Laluk, the love of her life. They are reunited in eternity. Lottie retired after a 40 year career with the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark. She was the ultimate care giver to her parents, sister Adele and husband Ed in their times of need. She was also the aunt who knew everyone in the family’s birthdays, anniversaries and other special days and would always send a thoughtful card and note. She enjoyed music, travelling and all things Polish. Lottie and Ed would take annual sojourns to Vermont with friends and enjoyed golfing. Lottie and Adele, the “Sisters” as they were know at Crestwood Manor or the “Ladies” to family and friends were a support to one another in many ways. We will always remember Lottie’s culinary skills, especially her holiday cookies and New Years Eve dinners at her home.
In addition to her husband Ed and her parents, Lottie was predeceased by her brother, Edward Gubernat and sister Adele Gubernat Swiecki. She is survived by her sister in law, Emily Gubernat and many loving nieces, grand nieces and nephews and one great grand niece who always brought her joy. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the extraordinary staff at the Health Care Center at Crestwood Manor and Ascend Hospice. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in Lottie’s memory be made to Crestwood Manor Employee Appreciation Fund, 50 Lacey Rd.,Whiting NJ 08759.

So sad to hear about Aunt Lottie's passing. At least she is at peace (and with Eddie) now. As she always said 'one day at a time'
She will be sadly missed by all her family - and I know especially Cindy.
I remember the lovely house on Poplar st. Lottie had the box of coloring books for the nieces to play with when each visited. I could connect with the family by seeing updates in these books.
Also loved all the amazing baking. The poppy seed cake - the delicious cookies - the list goes on. I loved how she would tell us about trying a new cookie and having Eddie test them - with his reaction being a shrug. My dad said he would gladly be tester! Since my mom (Lottie's sister-in-law) was not a baker it was an extra treat for us.
So many wonderful memories - my head has been filled with happy and peaceful thoughts.
I am sorry that I will not be able to make the service on Friday - I would have loved to say goodbye. My thoughts will be with all of you!
Sending warm hugs
