Salvatore P. DiStasio, 91, of Toms River passed away on Saturday April 20th, 2013 at the Lyons VA Hospital. Born in Staten Island, Salvatore moved to Holiday City in 1984. He was the owner, with his brother Ralph, of the Town and Country Luncheonette in Staten Island for 25 years. Salvatore was a World War II Marine Corps veteran who received the Purple Heart and was assigned to the Presidential Honor Guard. He also belonged to the VFW Post 10185, Bowling League, Americans of Italian Heritage of Berkeley Township, Bocci League, 400 Club of Toms River, 200 Club of Toms River, Staten Island Square Set and was an Alter Server at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Berkeley Township for over 23 years. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Bettina DiStasio and his brother Ralph DiStasio. Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years Mary (Barresi), daughters Donna and Sebastian DeAmicis of Waretown, Debra and Robert Case of Nutley, grandchildren Stephen, Kim and Nicole, great grandchildren Stephen and Angelina, sister Rose Brogna and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday April 22nd, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 23rd, 2013 at 10:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Berkeley Township. Mausoleum entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Voluntary Services at the VA Hospital in Lyons NJ.
