at home surrounded by his family at the time. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 69 years, Betty-Jane.
Surviving are four daughters, Thea Adcock, Terry Jones, Toni DiGuilio, Jeane Taylor and their spouses.
He leaves 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Stanley was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War 2.
He took part in battles on Guam and Iwo Jima, where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.
He and Betty-Jane moved to Seaside Park in 1948. He was a Police Officer in both Seaside Park and Seaside Heights for many years, retiring in 1984. He was a mentor to many young police officers throughout his career.
He was a member of Sunrise Lodge #288 Free and Accepted Masons, Gloria Chapter #159 and Wall Chapter #143, Order of the Eastern Star of NJ. He served as Past Grand Patron for Eastern Star. He was a life member of Tri-Boro First Aid, and an exempt member of Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A committal service will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
