Memories of her warmth, incredible wit, generosity, kindness, and creative spirit will be cherished. She will be loved, profoundly missed, and forever remembered by all of her family and friends.
One of the most striking qualities of Naomi was her absolute lack of interest in materialism or wealth.
Despite having no interest in spending money on herself Naomi was gloriously generous to the people she held dear and to those in need. Her wealth was in her relationships—relationships with her much loved siblings, family, and friends. She valued these relationships above all else and this is one of the many things that made her so wonderful and why she will be so sorely missed.
She is the loving Mother of Amanda, Rebecca and Clayton (Stephanie) Catching.
Cherished sister of Ilona (Robert) Rouda, Roseville, Minnesota; Jan (Lynn) Jarvinen, Onalaska, Wisconsin; Sandra (Martin) Holden, Green Bay, Wisconsin; and their families. Predeceased by her parents Theodore O. and Laura E. (Tuomela) Jarvinen and her siblings Theodore Jarvinen and Laure Lea (Jarvinen) Pierkowski.
She was also survived by John Catching; Chelsea Quebec and his family, Linda (James) Alexander, San Francisco; Rebecca Catching (James) Wood, Douglasville, GA, as well as by her nieces and nephews.
The Catching family greatly appreciates your gestures of sympathy and words of condolences at this very difficult time. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, the visitation and services will remain private for the family only. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date when all of those who she loved and who loved her are able to attend.
If desired, donations in memory of Naomi may be made to the Parkdale Community Food Bank or the Carp Library.
