I volunteered with Vickie for two years and it was truly a pleasure to know her and be a part of her cause. She was devoted to the community and really cared about the well-being of seniors, always thinking of new ways to make them just a little bit happier. I loved her liveliness and frankness, but most of all, her wacky sense of humour.

Vickie, you were a joy to be around and I’ll miss you. I’ll always remember you as the funny and adorable woman you were. May you rest well. You deserve it.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Vickie's death. I had the privilege of volunteering with her over the past few years for some of her programs . Vickie was passionate about the seniors at 200 Wellesley and worked tirelessly despite her own health challenges. She will be greatly missed in the community

Vickie was a powerhouse. She’s was a beacon of positivity during the pandemic in her work with the BWAN. Her compassion and sheer effort in caring for the seniors as well as the volunteers was unrivalled. It’s an unbelievable tragedy and sudden loss. I was lucky to have worked along side Vickie and the other volunteers. May we all carry a piece of her energy in our days.

Rest In Peace, Vickie.

We are saddened to learn that Vickie passed. We only got to know Vickie in last 4 months of covid, through our volunteer experience at BWAN. Vickie was a kind and generous soul, who cared deeply for others. Her positive energy and cando attitude enriched the lives of her seniors, and her volunteers. Rest in peace Vickie.

I was looking for volunteer work last year to pass the time when I was on leave from work and I saw the ad for Bleecker Wellesley Activity Network. I met Vickie and I knew right away that it was the right place for me. The word I used to describe her to people is that she was a "firecracker." She lit up the room when entered. She was loud and fiery but also warm and caring.

Vickie, I still can't believe you're gone. You will be missed by so many. You've touched many people's lives and your legacy will live on. I hope you finally get some rest - even though you will probably bossing everyone up there :) Love you and will miss you always.

The St. James Town community is one of great strength, resilience, and the pursuit of equity. A few bright shining stars personified this, of which Vickie shines particularly vibrantly.

Every little thing Vickie did meant something to someone, and through her example, she will live on through all of us in how we treat one another, and how we continue to carry forward a legacy of care for those around us.

Just ten days before she passed, Vickie and I, in one of our many typically lively pandemic email exchanges, signed off with, "Let's catch up for coffee when all this is over."

Wherever you are now, Vickie, I am holding you to that!

I had the good fortune of meeting Vickie this spring when she put out a call for volunteers so that her much loved and valued meal programs wouldn't miss a beat, even during a pandemic. It was inspiring to experience her resourcefulness and tireless dedication first-hand. Thank you Vickie for making our city a better place. You will be missed by many.

To say Vickie Rennie was an amazing person is such an understatement. She meant so much to her friends, family, and everyone who was fortunate to know her. I can't even begin to tell you how lucky I am to have had Vickie in my life. She was so passionate, dedicated and devoted in everything she did and she was absolutely selfless. An absolute angel on earth.

My dear Vickie,
You were such a lighthouse for the community. You gave a voice to the voiceless, and courage to the most vulnerable. You are truly an inspiration and what I'll miss most about you is your smile and sweet heart. You have taught me so much over the years and I truly wish I could hug you one last time. Rest easy my love, and say hi to your mom and Crystaligia for me 💗 love you always Vickie 💗
