He is survived by his younger brother and family. Willi made lots of friends which included the staff and residence of Weston Gardens.
Willi came to Canada from Germany as a young man, with a single suitcase and began a great journey of a new life in a new land which he embraced. Willi in the end, considered Canada his home. He loved the walks along the Humber River, sitting on his porch saying hello to his neighbours and having coffee on his porch with friends.
His greatest passion was his garden. He took such amazing care and pride in his work. In the warm Canadian summer months, he planted and grew beautiful flowers and turned his garden into his own sanctuary. Each year the new spring brought him new opportunities to start again.
Wilhelm is pre-deceased by his parents and siblings who he will rejoin in eternal life.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Humber Hospital for taking compassionate care of Wilhelm on his last few days and to the dedicated Staff of Weston Gardens who took such great care of him during the last 4 years. We would like to say a special thank you to his friend who was by his side as he peacefully passed.
The family asks that you consider making a donation in his memory to the Animal Humane Society as he always had a furry companion with him throughout his years.
We hope whatever memory you take with you of Willi that it will sustain you in knowing that he is at peace and resting as he wanted.
When you take a walk along the river, we hope you think of him …
