
Richard L. Neese, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and doctor was 74 when he died in his home surrounded by family and friends after a long and very courageous battle with a rare form of Leukemia on April 22, 2010. He will be deeply missed by his three daughters Brenda Neese, Michelle (Tim) Hogan, Julie Root; his four grandchildren Nicole Kraemer, Jordyn Kraemer, Lindsey Neese, William Root; his sister Glenda (Doyle); his four nephews and their families Dr. Michael (Annette), Tim (Alice), Steve (Judy) and John Roquemore; his Aunt Wanda (Wesley) Maycumber; his countless friends and patients. Richard was born in Carmen, Oklahoma on February 3, 1936 to Marvin and Alta Neese. He grew up in the Redondo Beach area, attended Redondo Union High School and was very active in sports, winning CIF State Championship in wrestling his senior year. In 1957 Richard entered the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic where he met Carol Whalen. They married on February 11, 1961 and moved to Torrance, where Richard set up his practice in 1962. He was very active in the chiropractic profession and won Doctor of the Year from the L.A. Southwest Chiropractic Society and from the L.A. County Chiropractic Society. He was also asked to be on the Board of Regents, where he served for eight years. Dr. Richard L. Neese, Chiropractic Orthopedist, was in practice for 48 years and loved treating and helping patients. He loved life, his family, his friends, his country, and the outdoors. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, trap shooting, hunting, and traveling. He's been to Africa, China, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, Honduras and his last venture was The Grand Canyon. He was one of the top 10 shooters in the State of California and in 2009 he finished #1 as a Senior Vet while undergoing 22 blood transfusions that year. He took annual fishing trips with his buddies to Alaska, out of San Diego, and to Mexico. He will always be remembered for his delicious fish fry's. A celebration of Richard's life will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, California on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 4:00 pm. Reception immediately following.
