Marjorie J. Ray, age 85 of Traverse City, formerly a lifetime resident of Empire, passed away Saturday, August 3rd in Traverse City. Marjorie was born on March 16, 1934 in Maple City, MI to Howard and Esther (Lewis) Hilton. She attended Empire schools, and obtained her GED. She was a member of Empire United Methodist Church, and enjoyed painting, knitting, quilting, and is remember by her family as a “great cook”.
She is survived by her children; Susan (Chet) Pasowicz, Thomas (Deborah) Ray, John (Jan) Ray, and Nancy (Randy) Pringle. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 am from the Empire United Methodist Church, Rev. Melody Olin officiating, with visitation at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery.
