I met Brian once; certainly seemed like a fine young man. However, I met his parents, Rick and Marie, on several occasions; and really got to feel a friendship with them. When this tragedy happened, one month, to the day, our heart and soul just cried for Brian and all his family and friends. Only our Lord above knows why he needed Brian now.

Back in 2002, we were with a mutual friend, Erik Larson. Erik was giving me a hard time about my receding hairline. Brian could tell that me being 22 years old and already having a receding hairline, might be a sensitive issue. He was quick to come to my defense and say kind things. It's a silly story, but I think it sums up the type of person Brian is. I never heard him say a negative thing about anyone , ever.  He was always kind. He treated people with respect. There was nothing fake about him. He was a very rare human being. It was always great to see him or hear a "hello" from him, from someone else. It was great to see him be a success in all aspects of life. It is incredibly sad to see him go. My condolences to everyone that knew him and was close to him. We'll see you on the other side, my friend.
