Dec 13, 1923 - Mar 09, 2017
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Carlos was born in Los Angeles, CA and spent his childhood in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico and Bisbee, Arizona. During the Great Depression he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked on projects from Old Tucson to the Grand Canyon. He joined the United States Army in September 1943 and was discharged in January 1946. He served as an Infantryman in the 6th Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat operations liberating the Philippine Islands from Japanese control during World War II. After the war, Carlos returned to Bisbee and eventually moved to Tucson, Arizona. There, he met Altagracia and they were married on February 23, 1962. They had two boys, Carlos and Ricardo. In Tucson, Carlos worked for various aluminum products companies in a number of positions from supervising numerous crews to sales representative. Carlos retired in 1987 and he, and Altagracia, took advantage of their sons military service by visiting them throughout the United States, including Alaska. Carlos very much loved all of his grand children and was blessed to see them grow from newborns to young adults. Carlos is survived by Altagracia - his wife of 55 years, his two sons Carlos Juan and Ricardo Pablo; and his grandchildren. A member of the "Greatest Generation", he will be dearly missed. We love you Tata. God will guide you on your journey, and you will always be in our hearts.
