My mom, Charlene would tell everyone, “I am not your typical 93 year old.” She was intelligent, vivacious, fun loving, and talented. She loved music and played the organ and piano beautifully. She earned her B.A. in Music Education (while pregnant with her fourth child, my brother Alan Breck Morrice), and she taught music and business for many years. She was a devoted P.E.O from the time she turned 18, and she attended the Methodist and Lutheran churches faithfully throughout her lifetime.
What I remember most, as her daughter “Lynne”, was that she loved to dance to Swing and that she always won big at the Craps tables in Vegas. Her granddaughters: Tara, remembers how insightful and knowledgeable she was and how she could talk with her about anything, as only a grandma can; and, Nicole, remembers her positive demeanor and contagious giggle, her passion for food and dining out, and her very independent and charismatic charm which complemented her big heart. Oh, and those standout bright red nails and lipstick!
She shared the majority of her married years with the love of her life, Robert J. Lundin, who sadly predeceased her in 2000, and she will be buried beside him at Fort Logan National Cemetery, in Denver, Colorado. They are reunited at last.
She leaves behind a wonderful family who love her dearly and celebrate her peace in passing: her daughter, Barbara Lynne (Morrice) Anderson, her son, Douglas Charles Morrice, and a step-daughter, Mary Lundin; eight grandchildren, Patricia Anderson, Mark Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Nicole Morrice, Tara (Morrice) Starr, Megan Morrice, Nathaniel Morrice, and Garrett Morrice; and two great grandchildren, Amanda Anderson and Ryker Starr.
