Frank A Abeyta

June 16, 1929July 25, 2020

Frank “Billie” Abeyta, age 91, passed peacefully in his home on July 25, 2020. Frank was born in Silver City, New Mexico on June 16, 1929 to Candida and Ralph Carbajal Abeyta. He lived in Silver City until the age of 18. He then moved to Morenci, Arizona where he first laid eyes on his future wife. He married the love of his life Della Abeyta in 1951, and lived in Morenci, Arizona until the age of 30. They then moved to Tucson, Arizona where they resided for the remainder of their lives.

Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and served two tours in the Korean War. He also retired from 25 years of mining in Arizona, and Columbia. He was a man who always kept his word and loved life. Everyone who knew him knew that his love for his family and dear wife were immeasurable. Frank and Della were a team who raised six boys, and did it with class, love, and LOTS of patience. Frank and Della’s love for each other was also to be admired. Everyone knew that his “Sweetheart,” was always by his side. When Della entered into heaven in 2007, she took a big piece of his heart with her. They are now dancing in paradise together.

Frank is survived by his sisters Luciana (Jesus), Josie, brother Pete (Gloria), six sons; Frank Jr, Johnny, Gerald, Michael (Anna), Mark, and Cristopher. Frank had 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Predeceased siblings of Frank include Danny, Raymundo, Veronica, and Marcos.

I want to offer my condolences to the Abeyta family. I was so sorry to hear about Frank's passing. I knew Frank for a long time, I knew he was a great man, and I had a lot of respect for him. He told me more than once... that he was ready and that he just wanted to be with Della... May he rest in peace.
