Ms. Aviles was my Spanish teacher at Sahuaro High School in Tucson.

One-of-a kind, Ms. Aviles was the BEST teacher, taught us real Spanish and to this day, I speak Spanish well thanks to her expertise!

I am sad I could never thank her in person, but she lives on in the way and methods I speak Spanish.

I was blessed to have her as my teacher!

My heartfelt condolences to Herlinda’s sister and all other family members.  It seems like yesterday when we were all at U of A.  I was so pleased when Linda got in touch with me via e-mail.   I had been hoping to hear from her again, but it was not to be.   I received the sad news today from Bonnie Moreno.    She lives on in the memories of her many friends, of whom I am one.  She was such a sweet personality.

 It was always so much fun to talk about politics with her because she KNEW what was going on and she had opinions.  I will miss her kindness and compassion; her warmth and understanding; and, mostly, her smile and her willingness to listen and learn and impart her own wisdom.  Tina, and family, I am most heartily sorry for this loss.  She was a bright light who made a difference in the world.

Señorita Aviles was my Spanish teacher for two years at Sahuaro High School. She made learning Spanish interesting and so much fun. She took a personal interest in all her students. I cherish the time I spent in her classes.

Miss Aviles (or as we called her Seniorita Aviles) was my Spanish teacher at Sahuaro High School for 2 years. She sparked my lifelong interest in foreign languages.  She made Spanish class fun and involved all of us. We really did learn a lot from her. Over the years she taught most of my brothers and sisters. I always had fond memories of those Spanish classes and especially her.

Words can not express the sympathy I have for Linda's family and other friends.  I have known the Aviles family since 1966, when I met Linda at Palo Verde High School in the foreign language department, and later I was invited to meet her Mother and sister, Tina.  A wonderful, kind, and sharing family.  I tried to keep in touch by phone regularly, buy mostly through my daily prayers in some way to comfort her.
I wish to express my sincere condolences to Tina and to all family members.  I shall keep Tina and family in my prayers.
