On Saturday April 24, 2021, Lucila G Montijo, loving partner and mother to 4 children, passed away at age 79. She was born on March 17, 1942 and raised in Ajo, Arizona, most recently living in Tucson, Arizona.

Lucila was the third of five children to Raul P. and Consuelo M. Grijalva. She raised four children in Ajo, with short periods in Los Angeles and Tucson, with her husband Guillermo C. Montijo, now deceased. Her children were her life treasures. Later in life she met Rodrigo Gomez, who was her life partner for more than 30 years.

Lucila had a passion for life and a joy for finding beauty in all things around her. She delighted in painting, decorating, and creating colorful spaces in her home and sharing her creations with her family. Her innate passion for dancing started early and lasted throughout her life. Dancing brought her and Rodrigo together. She enjoyed finding great deals on things to enhance her stylish flair. She was known for her big love for others: love for her children and love of life, love of family and love for those in need. Her strong faith and prayers uplifted and inspired many.

Lucila is preceded in death by her brother Frank, her mother Consuelo, and her father Raul. She is survived by her partner Rodrigo Gomez, and her children Guillermo Jr, Ruben, Frankie, and Maria as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters Berta, Evangelina, and Delcia, and numerous cousins.
