Bettylou Jean Kempton was born July 15, 1931 in Olympia Washington to Joseph and Opal Lavery. She is one of 12 siblings and a lifelong resident of Olympia Washington.
Bet, as she was known by her family, married Leroy Kempton on June 17, 1960. Together they raised six children. Ray Evans (Marie), Cheryl Kinnamon (Randy), Yvonne Kempton Rivers (Richard), Warren aka Dean (Bonnie), Alan Kempton and Judy Crandall (Bill). She has 12 grandchildren and 11 Great grand children. She was Aunt Bet to many nieces and nephews, too many to count and will be missed by all.
Betty started attending the Salvation Army through the Home League in 1968 and was enrolled as a Soldier in 1978 where she served as a faithful member of the Olympia Corps until her death. She was Promoted to Glory on March 16, 2019 after a brief stay at Providence St. Peters Hospital.
